Los Angeles boasts an amazing array of natural and constructed attractions. From the urban jungle to sandy beaches to towering mountains and more, you’ll probably never run out of things to do here. And you’ll always be able to answer that crucial question: what to do while high?
We’ve put together this mini-guide in hopes of sparking your imagination and thirst for fun. (Of course, if you need us to help you spark something else, you know how to find us.) With that in mind, here’s a short list focused on what to do while high in the City of Angels.
What to Do While High in LA
Smorgasburg at the Row
777 S Alameda St,
Los Angeles, CA 90021
Tempt your tastebuds with a variety of great foodie options. The Smorgasburg may actually be the cure for the munchies. Located just minutes for our DTLA dispensary, Smorgasburg will keep you busy for hours. Between a beer garden, numerous food stalls, and amazing artisans, you can spend every Sunday here and not get bored.
Grand Central Market
317 S Broadway
Los Angeles, CA 90013
We’ve highlighted this sprawling and historic covered market before, but few places on earth host such a wealth of delicious food with so much density. With the colorful Ana Maria stall cranking out Mexican specialties like crisp sopes and rich huaraches, Berlin Currywurst serving strange-sounding (but strangely delicious) German-style curry sausages, and Lucky Bird slinging what may be the best fried chicken we’ve ever tried, there’s enough here to keep you coming back day after day after day. The munchies are real and Grand Central Market is a great place to sate them.
Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens
1151 Oxford Rd
San Marino, CA 91108
Nature and art feel more immersive when you’re toasted, and the Huntington offers both. With one of the country’s most revered libraries and art collections, it can be a mind-blowing experience. But the real draw is the 120 acres of lush gardens, featuring an astounding 15,000 plant varieties. Stroll through any of the 16 themed gardens and you’ll be awed by the incredible natural beauty of the place we call home.
1200 Getty Center Dr
Los Angeles, CA 90049
Even if you don’t consider yourself an artsy person, this stunning museum may just change your mind (especially when you’re looking for what to do while high). Occupying an otherworldly hilltop site north of Santa Monica, The Getty is a living reminder why Los Angeles is still one of the world’s premier cultural destinations. Admission is free, although parking is typically $20.
Santa Monica State Beach
Pacific Coast Hwy
Santa Monica, CA 90401
When people dream of the phrase “California beach,” it’s a safe bet that this iconic strip of pale sand is what pops up in their mind’s eye. Stretching three-and-a-half miles down the coast, this picture-perfect beach features volleyball nets, picnic areas, lifeguards and the original Muscle Beach. After enjoying one of our pre-rolls, plop yourself down in the warm sand and let the cooling Pacific breezes wash your cares away.
The La Brea Tar Pits and Museum
5801 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036
One of LA’s stickiest attractions—you know another one—the tar pits are a group of natural asphalt wells clustered around Hancock Park. Seeping to the surface over the course of thousands of years, the tar trapped untold animal skeletons, many of which are on display at the nearby museum. You can check out the tar pits for free, though, museum admission starts at $14 for adults.
